PROCESS: How can we create a compelling experience
that combines physical and digital play?
Our process began with an exploration into user needs, in which we talked to a lot of people to better understand how and why adults play. We then generated hundreds of concepts, from which several main themes emerged. We quickly prototyped experiences from these concepts and evaluated each direction on values of desirability, feasibility, and viability. Once we narrowed to one main concept (physical cards with a digital world app), we prototyped using both physical and digital tools and observed people playing with our game. After several iterations, we created a final video prototype and created the pitch of our game's business model.
